1838 survey made reference to a "burial ground" on the McCormick league. The west line of the McCormick survey ran near the burial ground of San Jacinto. Bonewitz indicates the burial ground as being 460 varas south of the point established on Buffalo Bayou as the northeast corner of the 'Ross Headright". This was the likely postion for the burial of the Mexican dead. To date has not been found.

Campbell Family Cemetery. Another lost  cemetery on the San Jacinto Battle Grounds is the Campbell family cemetery. J. Campbell indirectly acquired his land from the M. T. Rodgers purchase of 1846. One deed to Campbell (1865) recorded the seller's retention of graves rights, stating that his daughter was buried on the land on which the seller had been residing (vol. 2, p. 524 of Deed Records). Another title to Campbell, from O. Adams in 1872, also recorded rights to a family grave lot.
